Harbor House Cottage - ...subtle hints from a long time ago
About Us

We, Karen and Paul Charpentier, moved out to Frenchboro fifteen years ago from Meriden, Connecticut for retirement. Shortly after moving, our grandchildren, Joseph and Jessica, were placed in our care. Needless to say, retirement was shortlived! However, with hard work and tender love, we continue to live happy lives out on the island.

To the cottage! The cottage itself served as the workshop on the Israel B. Lunt property just feet away from the main house itself, the oldest standing house on the island. We bought the property from the Teels in the mid-1990's and have since restored both buildings. The cottage features a modern vibe with subtle hints of a time long ago. The original beams show, whitewashed, which are comparable to the newly built old style staircase leading to the top level with the same unique qualities. The upper level features skylights ensuring the guests natural light throughout the day. Simply put, it's not a shack as you can see; its restoration reflects the brilliance of expert, modern carpentry and offers comfort in both the heat and the cool weather.
